Highmark Blue Shield is introducing a health insurance policy for individuals with health problems who would like health savings accounts.
Highmark Blue, Camp Hill, Pa., a unit of Highmark Inc., Pittsburgh, says it will be selling the new HSA-compatible policy, the PPOBlue High-Deductible Health Plan, on a guaranteed-issue basis.
Highmark also is adding a $250 deductible option and a $500 deductible option for its DirectBlue PPO plan, a conventional preferred provider organization plan that previously had no option for a deductible.
