Assurant Employee Benefits is trying to do its part to warn workers about the damage that illness or injury could do to their incomes.
The benefits business has posted a DisabilityEducationCenter site on the Web at Document Link
One section on the site gives statistics about disability, another describes Assurant Employee Benefits disability insurance products, and a third describes Assurant Employee disability insurance owners who have triumphed over their disabilities, according to Assurant Employee Benefits, Kansas City, Mo., which is a unit of Assurant Inc., New York.
One table on the site shows that an incident resulting in disability is 11 times more likely to occur in a given year than a home fire, 9 times more likely than an automobile accident, and 13 times more likely than death.
