Prudential Financial Inc. is building on earlier efforts to ease underwriting restrictions for consumers who have recovered from relatively mild cases of cancer.
Prudential, Newark, N.J., now will offer "preferred nonsmoker" rates to some applicants who have overcome low-grade cases of bladder cancer and meet the other requirements for the preferred nonsmoker rating classification, the company says.
