North American insurance executives believe mergers and acquisitions will be more common on other continents than at home.
About 17% of 65 executives who participated in an informal conference conducted by the New York office of KPMG L.L.P. are predicting a substantial acceleration in M&A activity overseas, while only 9% are expecting to see a substantial acceleration in North America, according to KPMG.
