MetLife Inc. reports net income for the first quarter was $714 million, down from $987 million for first quarter 2005.

Revenues rose to $11.6 billion in the quarter from $10.3 billion a year earlier.

Individual life net income for the first quarter totaled $94 million, down from $172 million a year earlier.

Individual annuity net income totaled $141 million, down from $150 million.
