A former acting director of the Illinois insurance department, is now working for the Chicago office of Dykema Gossett PLLC, a government relations firm.
As acting director of the department, Deirdre Kenny Manna regulated market behavior and financial solvency. She served as chairman for the Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan Board and represented Illinois at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners, Kansas City, Mo.
Manna has also been an assistant vice president of the American Insurance Association, Washington, where she worked on such issues as taxation, privacy, workers' compensation and financial services modernization.
