Humana Inc. announced its plan to add 1,100 positions in its headquarters city, Louisville, Ky., over the next 9 months.[@@]
Humana hopes to be running Medicare plans in 46 states in 2006, up from 25 today, and most of the hiring will support expansion of the Medicare operation, the company says.
Most of the new employees will work in customer service, information technology, and sales and support roles.
The company is particularly interested in applicants who are eligible for Medicare. Eligibility for Medicare would make those applicants uniquely qualified to serve the company's Medicare members, Humana says.
