Tufts Health Plan has agreed to hire American Healthways Inc. to provide disease management services for self-insured employer groups.[@@]
Tufts, Waltham, Mass., administers health coverage for groups with 250,000 employees.
American Healthways, Nashville, Tenn., says the new contract with Tufts will extend for 5 years.
In May, Tufts hired American Healthways to provide disease management services for the 365,000 members of the Tuft's fully insured commercial health plans.
