Few employers want to put a single outside company in charge of all human resources tasks.[@@]
Researchers at Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Washington, have published figures supporting that conclusion in a report on an informal survey of HR outsourcing practices at 135 large U.S. employers.
The majority of the participating companies say they expect to outsource more in the future, but only 35% say they outsource a significant amount of HR work today, and only 7% say they outsource most of their HR work.
At least 54% of the companies say they have no plans to put one outside vendor in charge of all or most HR work today or in the future, according to Watson Wyatt researchers.
