New England managed care companies are joining to go after multistate group health accounts.[@@]
Tufts Health Plan, Waltham, Mass., and CIGNA HealthCare, Bloomfield, Conn., say their alliance will start offering a national, "open access" health plan by late 2005.
The initial target market will be self-insured and fully insured employers with at least 200 employees.
CIGNA HealthCare is a unit of CIGNA Corp., Philadelphia.
