MetLife Inc., New York, has published a brochure that explains the use of immediate annuities in retirement income planning.[@@]
The brochure, "About Protecting Your Retirement," discusses inflation, market risk and longevity risk, and it talks about the factors retirees should consider when they are shopping for immediate annuities. The brochure includes a worksheet that consumers can use to assess immediate annuity needs and calculate projected annuity payments.
MetLife developed the brochure with annuity experts at the National Association for Variable Annuities, Reston, Va.
