NU Online News Service, April 9, 2004, 4:25 p.m. EDT – Planon System Solutions Inc., Mississauga, Ontario, is selling a pen scanner that can scan a page of text and graphics in 4 seconds.[@@]
Life and health agents could use the $199 scanner to scan information while they are in the field, Planon says. The scanner weighs 2 ounces and is 8 inches long. It can store up to 100 pages in its 2-megabyte flash memory unit.
The current version of the scanner is designed to work with computers that run the Microsoft Windows operating system. Planon also is developing a version of the pen that will work with Macintosh computers.
