NU Online News Service, Nov. 3, 2003, 5:13 p.m. EST – The Texas Health Insurance Risk Pool, Austin, Texas, has awarded a pharmacy benefit management services contract to WellPoint Pharmacy Management, a unit of WellPoint Health Networks Inc., Thousand Oaks, Calif.
The contract will cover 24,000 Texas residents starting Jan. 1, 2004.
WellPoint will handle claims processing, mail-order pharmacy services, formulary management, therapy management, clinical intervention programs and network management, WellPoint says.
