NU Online News Service, Oct. 20, 2003, 10:03 a.m. EDT – The Virginia Retirement System has picked UnumProvident Corp., Chattanooga, Tenn., to be the administrator for the Virginia Sickness and Disability Program. The program covers about 63,000 state employees.
UnumProvident will provide claims management services for short term and long term disability coverage starting Jan. 1, 2004.
Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
