NU Online News Service, July 9, 2003, 11:23 a.m. EDT – Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield, a unit of WellChoice Inc., New York, has set up a Web site for hospitals and outpatient clinics.
The 1,500 facilities in the Empire provider network can use the site to check patient eligibility and benefits coverage, Empire says.
In the fall, site users will be able to view patient benefit details, see medical record requests on suspended claims, check claim and read electronic data interchange validation reports, Empire says.
