NU Online News Service, April 30, 2003, 11:52 a.m. EDT – Quotesmith.com Inc., Darien, Ill., a Web-based insurance broker, is reporting a $413,000 net loss for the first quarter on $2.6 million in revenue, compared with a net loss of $872,000 on $2.3 million in revenue for the first quarter of 2002.
The number of policies sold through the Quotesmith site fell 20%, to 4,033, but average revenue per policy sold increased 25%, to $638, the company says.
