NU Online News Service, April 9, 2003, 11:06 a.m. EDT – The Hartford Financial Services Group Inc., Hartford, has agreed to be a "founding partner" for the U.S. Paralympics, Colorado Springs, Colo.

U.S. Paralympics is a unit of the U.S. Olympic Committee.

Exact details about the size of Hartford's commitment were not immediately available, but Hartford says it signed a "seven-figure, multi-year agreement."

The Paralympics is a series of sporting events for athletes with disabilities. The games take place in the same cities as the Olympics but two weeks after the official Olympic games.

Hartford, a major seller of group disability insurance products, has been supporting Paralympic athletes and programs for 10 years in an effort to showcase the abilities of people who have disabilities.
