NU Online News Service, Feb. 28, 4:33 p.m. – CompcareBlue, a unit of Cobalt Corp., Milwaukee, is introducing CompcareBlue Open Access, a health coverage program for fully insured employer groups.
Wisconsin employers that adopt the program can mix and match deductibles, co-insurance rates, and maximum out-of-pocket payments.
Employees can choose whether to select primary care doctors, and they can see specialists without referrals from primary care doctors, CompcareBlue says.
The program offers access to 4,500 doctors and a variety of disease-management programs.
CompcareBlue runs health maintenance organization programs for Cobalt. The new program combines the flexibility of a preferred provider organization plan with some of the cost savings available through an HMO, the company says.
