NU Online News Service, Feb. 6, 9:50 a.m. – Coventry Health Care Inc., Bethesda, Md., is reporting $40 million in net income for the fourth quarter of 2002 on $946 million in revenue, up from $23 million in net income on $814 million in revenue for the fourth quarter of 2001.
The managed care company ended 2001 providing or administering major medical coverage for 2 million people, up from 1.8 million people a year earlier.
Average premium revenue per "at risk" member increased 9.2%, to $569.
