NU Online News Service, Jan. 31, 4:15 p.m. – The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has succeeded at holding the average premium rate increase for participants in the Federal Employees Health Benefits Program to 11% for 2003, down from a 13% average increase for 2002, according to the U.S. General Accounting Office.
The increase is about the same as the average increase for all U.S. employers with 5,000 or more employees, the GAO says.
The GAO report includes an appendix that compares the federal health plans with other large plans.
