NU Online News Service, Jan. 30, 4:50 p.m. – AFLAC Inc., Columbus, Ga., is reporting $186 million in net income for the fourth quarter of 2002 on $2.7 billion in revenue, up from $163 million in net income on $2.4 billion for the fourth quarter of 2001.
Net earnings for the latest quarter include a $26 million charge for a contribution AFLAC expects to make to Japan's policyholder protection fund.
