NU Online News Service, Nov. 25, 9:23 a.m. – Oxford Health Plans Inc., Trumbull, Conn., says that Kent Thiry, who was the chairman-elect, has completed previously announced plans to take over as chairman and that Charles Berg, who was the president, has taken over as chief executive.

Thiry and Berg succeed Dr. Norman Payson, who took over as chief executive of the managed care company in May 1998 and became chairman in May 1999. Payson founded, ran and sold a large New Hampshire managed care company before he joined the effort to help Oxford overcome accounting and management problems.

Berg has worked for Oxford since 1998, and Thiry has been a member of the company's board since 1998.
