NU Online News Service, Sept. 30, 12:05 p.m. – Wausau Benefits Inc., Wausau, Wis., has picked Patient Choice Healthcare Inc., Minneapolis, to help it sell defined-contribution health programs to large and midsize self-insured employee health plans throughout the United States.
The programs will combine preferred-provider major medical coverage for catastrophic expenses with employer-funded, employee-directed "personal health management" accounts to pay for routine medical expenses.
The Patient Choice system gives program participants the ability to design their own networks of hospitals, specialists and primary care physicians.
