FirstMerit Insurance Agency, a unit of FirstMerit Corp., Akron, Ohio, has picked Answer Financial Inc., Los Angeles, a Web-based insurance brokerage, to help it sell health insurance, prescription coverage, dental coverage and other personal insurance through the Web.
FirstMerit will also sell the products through a 24-hour call center.
FirstMerit is part of bank holding company that has 157 branches in Ohio and Western Pennsylvania.
