NU Online News Service, July 31, 11:15 a.m. – New York Life Insurance Company, New York, has named Michael Leahy to be chief operation officer of its NYLIFE Securities unit and Daniel Young to be the unit's chief of staff.
Leahy will be responsible for the unit's call center and trading departments, training and recruiting, information technology and back-office functions.
Previously, Leahy was in charge of brokerage and service operations for NYLIFE Securities. He joined New York Life in 1999
Young will handle new products, Internet services, finance, compliance, human resources and commissions for NYLIFE Securities. He will also oversee Eagle Strategies, one of New York Life's investment advisory units.
Young had been an assistant general counsel for New York Life. Before joining the company, he practiced law in New York.
