NU Online News Service, July 29, 4:26 p.m. – Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., is reporting $45 million in net income for the second quarter on $2.8 billion in revenue, up from $25 million in net income on $2.5 billion in revenue for the second quarter of 2001.
The managed care company ended the quarter providing or administering major medical coverage for 6.6 million people, up from 6.5 million people a year earlier.
Average commercial premium revenue per commercial member increased 12%, to $582.
