NU Online News Service, June 5, 12:03 p.m. – Western & Southern Financial Group, Cincinnati, has reached an agreement to become the title sponsor of a major tennis tournament.
The tournament, held in the Cincinnati area since 1899, will now be known as the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters. The tournament is part of the same circuit that includes Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. It has a 64-player draw and a $2.9 million purse.
The next Western & Southern Masters will take place from Aug. 1 to Aug. 11 in Mason, Ohio, at the ATP Tennis Center.
