Behind the Numbers, with Mark keller

The chief investment officer of A.G. Edwards thinks that stocks have become the forgotten asset class. "We think investors are better off, from a total return point of view, using stocks," he says, noting that "the valuations in large caps are particularly attractive right now." Keller believes the most interesting stocks are in non-cyclical areas of the economy such as consumer staples and healthcare. "We think the next move is going to be a P/E expansion that occurs when the Fed stops tightening. And we think the companies with steady earnings are more than likely going to be the beneficiaries of it."--Robert F. Keane
