Cresset, a Chicago-based RIA and multi-family office, on Thursday announced an expansion of its Denver office with the hire of a managing director and wealth advisor with $1 billion in assets under advisement.

Ali Bathgate Hild joins Cresset from J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she advised entrepreneurs and executives.

Hild previously served as an executive director with J.P. Morgan Private Bank, where she spent 14 years working with the Denver, New York and Greenwich offices.

She serves on the Investment Committee for the Kent Denver School Board of Trustees and as a mentor for the Challenge Foundation, an organization providing talented but disadvantaged students with educational opportunities.

A Colorado native, Hild is a former Junior Olympic mogul skier. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in international economics and Spanish, with a minor in entrepreneurship from the University of North Carolina.

Hild told ThinkAdvisor she wanted to be somewhere where her incentives were fully aligned with her clients' best interests.

"My goal is to do more for fewer families, to be their first call for anything financial and a trusted resource across all aspects of their wealth," she said.

Hild said what excites her most about Cresset is the ability to offer family office services with a private investment platform.

"Together, those capabilities allow us to deliver a level of advice, access, and support that I believe is incredibly valuable for families," she said. "I also love that we are majority employee- and client-owned."

The most pressing challenge in working with entrepreneurs and executives is how busy they are, said Hild.

"My job is to give them time back," she said. "They don't need to be running a second business by managing their wealth."

Cresset Asset Management had about $79 billion in AUM as of May 21.
