The Securities and Exchange Commission has added four members to fill vacancies on its Investor Advisory Committee.
Three of the four new members were appointed to serve four-year terms. The fourth new member, John Liu, an investor and former managing director at Accenture and co-founder of Agile Partners, will represent the interests of seniors.
The three other new members are:
— Patrick Daugherty, a partner at the law firm of Foley & Lardner;
— Sheldon L. Ray Jr., former senior vice president, investments, portfolio manager, at Raymond James & Associates; and
— Adriana Z. Robertson, professor of business law at the University of Chicago Law School.
The four new members join nine current committee members.
"Their perspectives and expertise will be vital to the Committee's work and I look forward to their contributions to the public dialogue on the important issues facing investors," SEC Chair Paul Atkins said in a statement.
The committee advises the agency on regulatory priorities and initiatives to protect investors and promote the integrity of the U.S. securities markets.
