LPL Financial is expanding its partnership with artificial intelligence firm Anthropic in an effort boost financial advisors' experience.

"LPL sees the opportunity as we do: AI makes great advisors even better," Peter Nolan, Anthropic's asset and wealth management head, said in a LinkedIn post. "Together, we will build AI-powered tools that will improve the experience for their 30,000+ financial advisors. This is the beginning of something big for financial advisors and their clients."

The announcement came as Anthropic launched its first wealth management-specific plugins for Claude, its AI assistant.

"These plugins give #RIAs, #BrokerDealers, #Custodians, #TAMPs, and other platforms a foundation to build their own private plugins customized to their advisors, powered by their data, controlled by their compliance teams. They own what they build. We're providing the building blocks, while the experts build on top," Nolan posted.

"LPL has been intentionally building advisor‑centric AI for years," the independent broker-dealer said in its own LinkedIn post. "With partners like Anthropic, we're shaping the next generation of AI that helps inform decisions all while our advisors guide their clients in making them."

Also on Tuesday, Orion announced it was broadening its partnership with Anthropic as the OpenAI rival launched the new financial services plug-ins for the wealth management industry.
