UBS Group AG’s Chief Executive Officer Sergio Ermotti is planning to step down in April 2027, the Financial Times reports Tuesday, citing unnamed people.
Aleksandar Ivanovic, who leads the Swiss firm’s asset management unit, has emerged as one of the executives most likely to succeed Ermotti, the people familiar said.
Wealth management co-heads Iqbal Khan and Robert Karofsky, and chief operating officer Beatriz Martin are among other contenders, they added.
The board has not yet finalized Ermotti’s exit, one of the people said. UBS declined to comment to the FT.
Ermotti said in 2024 he planned to stay at the helm of the bank until the completion of absorbing Credit Suisse, which could be the end of 2026 or early 2027.
