Through Sept. 30, 60 private equity-backed wealth management firms completed mergers or acquisitions, and nine of those firms executed their first acquisition since raising capital, according to MarshBerry’s third-quarter M&A report.

The report indicates that the M&A market is evolving as capital continues to flow to the biggest established consolidators and to more and more new entrants eager to establish a presence and build their own platforms.

With this increased diversity in the market, sellers are weighing cultural fit, leadership roles and long–term growth potential, the report said.
