The Princeton Review this week published its annual 50 categories of college rankings in The Best 391 Colleges: 2026 Edition.
The 50 ranking lists the top 25 colleges from the book in a specific category. The subjects are of interest to students — including best campus food and dorms and highly regarded professors — and their parents — financial aid and career services.
The ranking lists are based on The Princeton Review's surveys of students attending the 391 colleges named in the book who rate their own schools on dozens of topics and report on their campus experiences at those schools.
The company gathered data for the rankings from surveys it conducted in the 2024-25 academic year and/or in the previous two academic years among 170,000 students at the 391 schools, on average 435 respondents per school.
The Princeton Review, a test-prep company, is not affiliated with Princeton University.
