Focus Financial Partners has named Adam Birenbaum president, while Justin Ferri is taking on the role of chief operating officer.
The long-tenured Focus executives are charged with accelerating the company’s growth across its wealth, family office and outsourced chief investment officer offerings. They will report to Michael Nathanson, CEO of Focus.
“As we continue to scale Focus with purpose and intention, I am pleased to have Adam and Justin step into their expanded roles,” Nathanson said in a statement. “This natural evolution of our executive team reflects our commitment to convergence and coherence across our business, with the goal of creating a more unified, aligned and forward-looking organization.”
Birenbaum’s and Ferri’s appointments come more than a year after the firm announced a new “hub” strategy for organizing its national advisor force. The benefits of the hub strategy, according to Nathanson, include developing greater capabilities for clients and advisors, accelerating growth, promoting succession planning and operating at significant scale.
Birenbaum earlier served as CEO of the Focus-affiliated wealth management firm Buckingham Strategic Wealth, which was merged with fellow Focus affiliate Colony Group last year. As president of Focus, his role will continue to include leadership of Focus Partners Wealth and Focus Partners Advisor Solutions.
As COO, Ferri will lead Focus’ operations, including trading, service and support, client and advisor experience, and firmwide infrastructure. He will also continue to serve alongside Birenbaum and others in leading the day-to-day operations of Focus Partners Wealth and Focus Partners Advisor Solutions.
