Former Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen is joining Pacific Investment Management Co.’s global advisory board, along with former Governor of the Reserve Bank of India Raghuram Rajan.

Former Federal Reserve Chair Ben Bernanke will leave his role as chair of the advisory board, with former U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown stepping into that role, the bond giant said Wednesday in a statement.

Yellen, 78, was Treasury secretary during the Biden administration and Federal Reserve chair under Barack Obama. She had previously spent much of her career at the Fed and in academia, including at the University of California Berkeley and Harvard University.

The global advisory board also includes Business Roundtable Chief Executive Officer Joshua Bolten and U.S. defense policy and national security expert Michèle Flournoy.

PIMCO said the advisory board provides the firm with “insights on global economic, political, and strategic developments and their relevance for financial markets.”
