Wealth provider Orion says it has hired Michael Mandelos to serve as executive vice president of Wealth Management Product. Mandelos oversees the firm’s wealth platform technology, investment products and partner relationships, reporting to Ron Pruitt, president of Orion Wealth Management.

“At Orion, we are ‘all in’ on empowering advisors with the open architecture investment solutions, technology and support they need to succeed,” Pruitt said. “We’re confident that Michael’s deep understanding of investment product development … will further elevate our ability to provide cutting-edge solutions that help financial professionals elevate and grow their practices.”

Mandelos has more than 25 years of experience in investment product management and development. He spent the past decade with Miller/Howard Investments, where he was head of national accounts and worked with RIAs, broker-dealers and other firms, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Before that, he worked for over seven years at UBS Wealth Management to develop and manage the firm’s unified and separately managed accounts. Mandelos began his career in 2000 at JPMorgan as a mutual fund product and relationship manager.

“It’s an exciting time of growth and innovation at Orion, and I am proud to join the team to empower financial advisors with customizable investment solutions that help investors pursue and achieve their long-term goals,” Mandelos said in a statement.

As of Dec. 31, Orion serviced $4.9 trillion of assets under administration and $97.5 billion of wealth management platform assets.
