Prudential Financial has picked Pat Hynes to be president of Prudential Advisors, its U.S. retail and advice business.
He succeeds Brad Hearn, who will become president of Prudential Holdings of Japan.
Prudential Advisors has relationships with about 2,800 financial advisors and fee-based financial planners. The financial professionals at the unit have relationships with 3.5 million U.S. families.
Hynes has been Prudential Advisors' head of sales. In 2023, he helped Prudential Advisors roll out its first fee-based annuity. He talked about the importance of the product tying into a client's overall investment reporting.
He recently headed to the New York Stock Exchange with a group from Prudential to celebrate the Newark, New Jersey-based company's 150th anniversary by ringing the NYSE opening bell.
Hynes began working for Prudential in 1996 as an assistant general counsel for the Prudential Securities unit.
He has a bachelor's degree from Iona College, a law degree from St. John's University and a master's degree in business from New York University.
