Rod Young has taken over as the chair of the Delta Dental Plans Association board.

The association is an Oak Brook, Illinois-based group that represents the 39 Delta Dental dental insurance companies. The companies are the dental insurance equivalents of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield major medical insurance companies.

Young is the president of Delta Dental of Minnesota.

Allan Allford, the president of Delta Dental of Arizona, is the association's new vice chair, and Rob Goren, the president of Delta Dental of Missouri, is the secretary-treasurer.

The association says its members companies now provide dental coverage for about 78 million people.

That's up from a total enrollee count of 75 million that the association reported in early 2018.
