How can a 45-year-old part-time agent build a full-time agency?

The clock is ticking, for the producers as well as for the clients.

I am 45, and I am brand new to the insurance business. I want to grow in the industry because I have seen the power of insurance in my personal life.

I would like to start part-time and create a full time business.

Sometimes I feel too old to get started in a new industry. Another part of me understands I have 20 years to build an agency before I turn 65.

How do I start as a part time agent, and grow into a full time agency with agents working with me?
