Americans blame Republicans for the shutdown—but no one comes out well

Americans blame both parties almost equally for responsibility for the government shutdown.

A recent Associated Press-GfK survey found that 62 percent of Americans blamed Republicans for the shutdown and about half of Americans blamed President Obama and the Democrats. Although no one is surprised that Republicans are losing the communications war, many thought the margin would favor the Democrats by much more.
