Email. In all its splendid efficiency, email can be rather hit-or-miss when it comes to establishing new working relationships. The success of in-person meet, and telephone calls, too, can rely on tone and inflection to bail you out if you fumble a bit. However, the words you choose in an email are literally your only representation. So, it's pretty basic – choose the right words and the ditch the wrong ones when writing an email.
