The money being doled out by the National Football League will go to fund concussion-related research, medical exams and compensation. The settlement comes after years of mounting sentiment that the NFL was concealing the risks of head injuries to players and their spouses, a House Judiciary hearing on concussions and a suicide. Approximately 4,500 players took part in the suit.
