Apparently not as divisive in Japan as it is here, stem cells are being used to treat macular degeneration. The Japanese government has approved the first trial of cells produced from a patient's own body. While we wrangle with ethics and legality, Japan is entering a brave new world. One where things may in fact, appear much clearer.
