Whole Foods founder John Mackey has never been shy about his opposition to health care reform, even going so far as to call it fascist. His is not the overblown rhetoric of a pundit, he sees health care reform as the government controlling the means of production – in this case, health care. And unlike many health care reform critics, he doesn't think PPACA is socialism, because the government didn't buy up all of the health insurance companies. But all of this doesn't mean there still isn't room to work with the White House; Mackey likes Michelle Obama's fitness campaign, as it dovetails with his own larger desire to see more Americans eating better food – and reducing their own health care costs in the long run.
