A financial services company has chosen an investment manager for a life unit's $4 billion general account.

Security Benefit Life Insurance Company, a unit of Security Benefit Corp., Topeka, Kan., has picked Guggenheim Partners L.L.C., Chicago, to manage the general account assets.

The assets had been managed by the insurer's own money managers.
