A health insurer has selected a wellness program for some of its Medicare plan members.
Humana Inc., Louisville, Ky., has agreed to use the Silver&Fit "fitness and healthy aging" program from American Specialty Health Inc., San Diego, for Medicare plan members in Arizona and Pennsylvania.
The program will give older Humana plan members access to no-cost memberships in fitness clubs, senior-specific exercise classes, and social activities aimed at older consumers.
In Arizona, program members may get no-cost individual personal training sessions, American Specialty says.
The program also provides DVDs, Web classes and other tools for seniors who prefer to work out at home.
