In-force critical illness premium revenue may be about 20% higher this year than it was in 2006, and the number of policies or certificates in force may be about 16% higher.
Researchers at Gen Re LifeHealth, an arm of General Re Corp., Stamford, Conn., have published those statistics in a report based on a survey of 38 insurers that are active in the U.S. critical insurance market.
Gen Re conducted the survey in conjunction with the National Association of Critical Illness Insurance, Lincoln, Neb.
