An insurer has expanded the range of investment options available to customers who buy 401(k) plans aimed at self-employed business owners.
Pacific Life Insurance Company, Newport Beach, Calif., says customers of its Pacific Life Individual(k) program now can invest assets in variable annuities.
When Pacific Life introduced the program in 2004, the initial investment choices included 5 portfolio optimization funds and 15 individual mutual funds.
The program continues to include the optimization funds and mutual funds as well as variable annuities, Pacific Life says.
