Leaders of a community group want to see if the group can move their town into the electronic patient health record era.
The Louisville Health Information Exchange Inc., Louisville, Ky., has started an 8-week effort to see how prepared Louisville doctors, hospitals and consumers are to support a community-wide health record storage system.
The effort will include Web-based surveys, telephone surveys and focus group meetings, LouHIE says.
LouHIE will be working with a consulting firm and researchers at the University of Louisville to conduct the analysis.
LouHIE hopes to use the analysis to create a request for proposals for vendors to set up and run a Louisville health record storage system, the group says.
